Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman congratulated the State Bank of India (SBI) on completing 70 years of service, highlighting its digital transformation and nation-building contributions.



“SBI’s digital transformation over the past decade has immensely benefited its customers. It is truly the banker to every Indian,” she posted on X (formerly Twitter).

To mark its 70th anniversary, SBI announced its plan to solarise 4 million homes by FY27, contributing to India’s clean energy goals.
